Self-Publishing Consultations
Do you have a manuscript that you are considering self-publishing but are unsure where to start? Do you have questions about the self-publishing process? Then sign up for a self-publishing consultation with Robert Herrick. During your self-publishing consultation, Robert will provide written feedback on your picture book or novel (up to 10 pages), discuss next steps, and answer your questions about the self-publishing process.
Conference attendees may register for an in-person 15-minute self-publishing consultation to receive a manuscript critique, advice, and strategies for self-publishing their book.
Robert Herrick worked for 20 years as a software developer. He helped create over fifty commercially released games and educational titles: including the best-selling Cabela’s Big Game Hunter series. Since leaving the game industry, he has self-published two picture books, one grammar book, and three books that help authors on their self-publishing journey. He is an award-winning screenwriter and producer. Robert has been an SCBWI member since 2004. IMPORTANT INFORMATION
• Cost (SCBWI Members only): $65.00
• Availability: There are 8 total slots available for critiques.
• Time: Critiques will be scheduled between 4:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2023. You may not request a specific time.
• Formatting: Manuscripts MUST follow the critique guidelines found by clicking here.
• You must be registered for the full conference or Saturday/Sunday conference option to receive a consultation.
• Your manuscript MUST be submitted within 48 hours of registering and paying for your consultation.
• If you are NOT ready to submit your work when registering for the conference, you may come back at a later time to register and pay for a consultation as long as slots remain available.
• There will not be any virtual consultations. Only face-to-face.
